The Magic Toy Shop

Meet our instructors!

At Starship Dance Studio we have both a strong network of alum who love to come back to teach, and experienced teachers who have studied dance pedagogy. We have a multitude of teachers so that dancers may broaden their vocabulary and experience different dance backgrounds, while also maintaining the stability of regular teachers. This way, both the dancer and teacher may get to know each other and better understand one’s style of dance, allowing Starship dancers to forge personal bonds at the studio and fully comprehend corrections. Students will evaluate their teachers at the end of each semester to ensure quality and encourage growth in teachers as well. Students may ask for their teachers to evaluate them as well.

Guest artists will teach MasterClasses, run workshops, choreograph, or may teach for a short while. Some of our recent alum guest artists have been, Sean Suozzi, a former  and Soloist of New York City Ballet, who produced our classic winter performance, The Magic Toyshop, Chelsey Arce, who is both a performer and choreographer on Broadway and most recently taught a MasterClass on Broadway’s, Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, and Faith Anderson, who created a new work on the Starship dancers centered around the themes of dance & disabilities.
