Joyce DiLauro teaches Ballet I on Wednesdays.

She says, ” This year we are focusing on proper placement. The ability to stand on one leg, with your body aligned correctly, is essential to ballet. Proper placement begins at the barre with balances and exercises on one leg. We bring it to the center with smaller movements, eventually travelling. In these photos, my students are working on pas de polka, which is a skipping step, to have some fun!”

Keeping with the fun theme, dancer Sydney Herard says “I like doing leaps because I like jumping high!”
